The only ward of neonatology for Veliko Turnovo district is located in the maternity ward of the multiprofile hospital in the city. Annually, more than 200 babies from the ten municipalities of the region get treatment there.
Thanks to the "Bulgarian Christmas" charity campaign this year, the ward is now equipped with the latest generation of monitor that helps in the care for premature babies.
In March this year, Virginia Eneva became a mother of a girl, who was born prematurely and had to stay in hospital for nearly two months. She is firm that besides the professional care of the doctors, her daughter is a healthy child thanks to the thousands of benefactors of the Bulgarian Christmas campaign.
"We understand that there is a donated monitor and thanks to it there will be more saved children." Every year more and more premature babies are born and many lives are saved thanks to the doctors and this charity campaign! "
Dr. Kina Nikolova says that in the recent ten years, the noble initiative, has repeatedly provided assistance for the neonatology in Veliko Turnovo. There are now new incubators in the ward, hearing aid screening, and after the campaign in 2016 there is now a new monitor that tracks the condition of the babies, she explained.
"This new monitor can read heart rate, breathing, saturation, oxygen and we can measure baby blood pressure." To follow the world's trends for caring for the newborns, we will need more and more modern equipment! We are very grateful to the Bulgarian Christmas, thank all benefactiors and we hope they will be more and more! "
Neonatologists believe that this year thousands of Bulgarians will open their hearts to help many Bulgarian children live happy and healthy lives.
