A Bulgarian citizen was arrested in Germany in an operation against trafficking in human beings on 31st of January.
The police conducted the operations in Berlin, Bremen, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony. Two people are arrested in the capital - one is a 53-year-old Bulgarian citizen, the other is 43-year-old Turkish citizen. The two are suspected of being part of an international group that smuggles migrants in lorries through the so-called Balkan route to Germany. More than 200 representatives of the law enforcement agencies took part in the operation.
