Bulgarian Railways provide extra seats to train services over the holidays

The Bulgarian Railway Company, "BDZ - Passenger Transport" EOOD, will provide additional 28,000 seats during the upcoming Christmas and New Year Holidays, BDZ said on December 19l.

The company will add extra carriages to trains travelling along the main routes in the country to ensure the comfortable trip of the passengers during the holiday period,

From December 20 until January 6, 2020. including, the national railway carrier BDZ, will provide additional seats to train services on main routes such as: Sofia – Varna - Sofia; Sofia - Bourgas – Sofia; Sofia – Plovdiv - Sofia; Sofia – Svilengrad – Sofia; Sofia – Gorna Oryahovitsa – Sofia; Sofia - Lom – Sofia; Sofia – Vidin – Sofia; Sofia – Blagoevgrad – Sofia; Sofia – Petrich – Sofia; Varna – Plovdiv – Varna;.

Pre-sale of tickets has been introduced since the beginning of the week for seats in all fast trains that will travel during the festive period. The usual term for pre-sale of tickets is 5 days ahead of the travelling date, but the national railway carrier has the practice of extending this term when there are longer holiday periods. Thus BDZ-Passenger Transport offers its customers the opportunity to plan their trips in advance, as well as to buy tickets and treserve seats in time for their preferred train service.

Customers have the opportunity to buy tickets online as well. Pre-sale term for online purchased of tickets is 30 days in advance. The online system for sale of train tickets is accessible on the official website of the railway company, www.bdz.bg, or at https://bileti.bdz.bg/.

BDZ reminds passengers that when purchasing return tickets they can get 10% to 30% discount on the regular ticket price, depending on the various discount offers.
