On 7th of December, the second largest party represented in Parliament, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) declined the offered mandate to form a government and returned it to Bulgaria’s President Rossen Plevneliev.
The socialists insist on early elections. BSP leader Kornelia Ninova called on the President to speed up the procedure of offering mandates and form a caretaker government as soon as possible.
President Plevneliev said he would next offer the third and final mandate to the centre-right Reformist Bloc on 12th of December. He again urged the political forces to seek possibilities to form a government within the current National Assembly.
