President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of Romania, Valeriu Zgonea, met with the chairperson of Bulgaria’s Parliament Tsetska Tsatcheva on 6th of April and signed a memorandum of cooperation through which the two countries undertake to strengthen cooperation relations at parliamentary level. They also discussed the bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries.
Speaking after the meeting, Tsetska Tsatcheva said that the talks focused on bilateral trade and economic relations, transport and energy connectivity, construction of the gas interconnector pipeline between Russe and Giurgiu, Danube Bridge 2 and the necessity of more efforts to build rail and land transport links.
Valeriu Zgonea said that the Danube strategy was very important as it might help to ensure prosperity and security of the citizens of the two countries. He stressed on the possibility of Bulgaria and Romania becoming an economic and energy hub for the region.
