Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov met with Robert Singer, the CEO and vice-president of the World Jewish Congress, who expressed his gratitude to the Bulgarian people for rescuing nearly 50,000 Bulgarian Jews from deportation, the press service of the cabinet said on 2nd of February.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the event, and the exclusive role of Bulgaria must be highlighted, Singer pointed out. The Prime Minister and his guest are at the opinion that efforts should be directed at rejecting the language of hatred and extremism and should be focused on protection of tolerance.
