On 14th of April, Bulgaria’s Supreme Judicial Council voted on its division into two colleges – one of judges and one of prosecutors. This happened after the amendments to the Law on Judicial System and the constitution were passed.
The college of the judges is comprised of 14 members and the college of magistrates is comprised of 11 members.
The SJC members from the Parliamentary quota are 11. Six of them are included in the college of judges and five in the college of prosecutors.
