Burgas airport will be closed for a month for renovation

Burgas Airport will be temporarily closed for nearly a month due to the need for repair works, the company concessionaire of the airport said on February 9.

All flights will be suspended from 6.00 on 7 March. "The temporary closure of the airport is due to maintenance work related to improving the safety of the runway tarmac and lighting system before the start of the active summer season this year," the concessionaire said.

Ryanair will resume flights to and from Burgas from March 31. In April, it will operate flights from Krakow (Poland), Vienna (Austria) and London Luton (UK), while from May, it will resume flights to Kaunas (Lithuania) and Warsaw Modlin (Poland), according to the flight calendar published on the carrier's website. The airline will also resume flights from Dublin (Ireland), Budapest (Hungary), Bratislava (Slovakia), Gdansk and Poznan (Poland) from the beginning of June.

Wizz Air airline plans to operate 7 routes from Burgas. The first flights should be operated in the second half of June 2024. They will be to Vienna (Austria), Katowice, Gdansk, Lublin, Warsaw (Poland), Budapest and Debrecen (Hungary). The year-round flights to London Luton (UK) will also continue.
