Several things need to be done in the horizon of this term in office - we need to deal with the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, there are huge energy projects that need to be implemented, and also to create an organization for the introduction of machine voting. This was commented at a briefing by Deputy Prime Minister, Tomislav Donchev, on July after the no-confidence vote against the government was rejected.

We have a good deal for Bulgaria, it is also good for the European Union, Donchev commented on the agreement reached between European leaders on the multiannual financial framework of the European Union.

The size of the EU financial framework is as expected: 1 trillion. and 74 billion euros.

We have changes from the original proposal. €390 billion from the package will be distributed in the form of grants to member states and €360 billion in loans.

For Bulgaria, the total amount of funding under all instruments amounts to EUR 28 billion 934 million. Cohesion policy is almost 9 billion. Funds for direct payments amount to 5 billion euros. Fair Transition Fund is set to be 1 billion 178 million euros.

The good news is that we have an additional package of 200 million under the cohesion policy for the least developed regions, added the Deputy Prime Minister and called for not allowing this funding to sink like water in the sand.

Emphasis is also placed on energy efficiency, not only on buildings, but also investment in machinery. We must renovate all public buildings, there should not be one that is not energy efficient, said Donchev.

The Deputy PM said there would be changes in the cabinet. “What the changes would be – please, be kind enough to wait a few days,” he said.

The key words with which the EU's multiannual financial framework was adopted are growth and employment - these are the common goals, commented the Minister of Social Affairs Denitsa Sacheva.

Bulgaria receives more funding - one billion more than in the previous budget. This cannot happen in a country where the spending of money is not transparent, in a country that is run by corruption or where there are suspicions of mafia.

Yes, there may be mistakes, there may be things that need to be corrected, but let us interpret the facts correctly and set common goals, Minister Sacheva added.
