The problem of migrant pressure on Bulgaria’s border with Greece and Turkey is getting complicated, caretaker Minister of Interior, Boyko Rashkov said on August 12 and specified that groups of migrants, mainly from Afghanistan, are approaching Turkey, and they are expected to try to enter the European Union as well.
If necessary, the number of police officers to be posted to border areas will be increased.
"We have no reason to calm down. We are currently deploying police forces, including from the gendarmerie, to prevent the crossing of the border and if migrants have managed to cross the border, to be located and found in the interior of the country," said the caretaker Minister of Interior Boyko Rashkov.
