Smuggling of cigarettes has fallen to 3.4% in the second quarter of 2019, according to a survey commissioned by the tobacco companies in Bulgaria.
Lager amount of the smuggled cigarettes are intended for the domestic market and more than 3% for export.
The smuggling remains at the highest level in Svilengrad - more than 39%. High levels of smuggling are identified in Veliko Turnovo and Rousse. In Sofia – the levels of smuggling are lower than the average - 2.3%.
The presentation of the results was attended by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov and the Ministers of Finance and Interior.
