Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 135 new cases, 256 recoveries and 14 deaths

The newly confirmed coronavirus cases in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 135 out of 5252 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on August 18 shows.

The latest cases were reported in the following districts: Blagoevgrad - 12; Bourgas - 1; Varna - 13; Veliko Turnovo - 3; Vidin – 1; Dobrich – 12; Kardzhali - 3; Kyustendil - 3; Pazardzhik - 3; Pernik - 1; Plovdiv - 14; Razgrad – 4; Rousse - 3; Silistra - 9; Sliven - 2; Smolyan - 6; Sofia city - 25; Stara Zagora - 9; Haskovo – 8; Shoumen - 1; Yambol - 2.

The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic is 14500.

The active cases are 4546.

Of the total, 768 are in hospitals, 56 of them being in intensive care.

The recoveries over the past 24 hours are 256, thus bringing the total recoveries to 9442.

The medical professionals who tested positive for the virus are 803, including 6 confirmed in the past 24 hours: 4 doctors and 2 nurses..

The total of fatalities rose to 512.

Fourteen Covid-19 associated deaths were reported in the past 24 hours: a 58 year old man with no underlying health conditions; a 67 year old woman with diabetes and heart disease; a 70 year old man with diabetes; an 84 year old man heart disease and chronic lung disease; a 79 year old woman with pneumonia; a 90 year old woman with heart disease; a 77 year old woman with heart disease, cancer and blood illness; a 53 year old woman with no underlying health conditions; a 68 year old woman with diabetes and heart disease; a 79 year old man with heart disease and chronic kidney condition; a 79 year old man with no other illnesses reported; a 69 year old man with diabetes and heart condition; a 64 year old man with heart disease and a 63 year old woman with pneumonia.
