The newly confirmed coronavirus cases in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 157 out of 7639 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on August 28 shows.
The following districts reported the largest number of new cases: Sofia – 33; Blagoevgrad - 21; Dobrich – 14; Stara Zagora - 11 and Pazardzhik 10.
The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic is 15,908.
The active cases are 4270.
Of the total, 726 are in hospitals, 65 of them being in intensive care.
The recoveries over the past 24 hours are 294, thus bringing the total recoveries to 11,044.
The medical professionals who tested positive for the virus are 866, including 7 confirmed in the past 24 hours.
The total of fatalities rose to 594.
Eight Covid-19 associated deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.
