The newly confirmed coronavirus cases in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 169 out of 6373 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on August 22 shows.
The latest cases were reported in the following districts: Blagoevgrad - 21; Bourgas - 3; Varna - 8; Veliko Turnovo – 1; Vidin – 3; Dobrich –25 ; Kyustendil - 2; Lovech – 2; Montana - 2 Pazardzhik - 6; Pernik - 3; Pleven – 3; Plovdiv - 12; Rousse – 8; Silistra – 4; Sliven – 3; Smolyan - 5; Sofia city - 35; Stara Zagora - 4; Targovoshte – 3; Haskovo – 7; Shoumen – 8; Yambol - 4.
The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic is 15,131.
The active cases are 4310.
Of the total, 734 are in hospitals, 73 of them being in intensive care.
The recoveries over the past 24 hours are 195, thus bringing the total recoveries to 10,282.
The medical professionals who tested positive for the virus are 831, including 7 confirmed in the past 24 hours: 1 doctor; 2 nurses; and 4 other medical staff.
The total of fatalities rose to 539.
Seven Covid-19 associated deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.
