The newly confirmed coronavirus cases in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 203 out of 6232 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on August 26 shows.
The largest number in the latest cases were reported in the districts of Blagoevgrad – 36; Plovdiv – 17 and Sofia city – 27.
The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic is 15,500.
The active cases are 4416.
Of the total, 715 are in hospitals, 64 of them being in serious condition.
The recoveries over the past 24 hours are 104.
The medical professionals who tested positive for the virus are 849, including 4 confirmed in the past 24 hours.
The total of fatalities rose to 572.
Nine Covid-19 associated deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.
The government is expected today to approve the proposal of the health minister for extension of the epidemic emergency situation until the end of September.
