Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 272 new cases, hospitalisations rise

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 272 from 6,358 tests, the daily report on the National Information Portal shows on August 16.

The daily percentage of positive cases is at 4.3%.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 433,234.

The active cases are 14,734.

Of the total, 1,548 patients are in hospitals, 141 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

· 178 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 400,156

· 2,186 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccines, bringing the total to date to 2,154, 824

· 5 Covid-19 related deaths, thus the death toll to date is 18,344.
