Two hundred and ninety eight (298) new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours from 4900 PCR tests, data on the national information system shows on July 18.
The largest number of new cases is reported in Sofia city – 92; Varna – 35; Plovdiv – 38; Dobrich – 14.
In the other discticts of the country, the latest cases are as follows: Blagoevgrad – 12; Bourgas – 1: Veliko Turnovo – 15;Vratsa – 6; Kardzhali – 2; Kyustendil – 12; Lovech – 1; Pazardzhik – 6; Pernik – 4; Pleven – 4;Razgrad – 2; Rousse – 9; Silistra – 2; Sliven – 8; Smolyan – 6; Sofia district – 13; Stara Zagora – 8; Targovishte – 2; Haskovo – 4; Shoumen – 2.
The total-lab-confirmed cases in the country to date are at 8442.
The active cases are 4112.
106 people recovered over the past 24 hours. The total recoveries since the start of the epidemic are 4033.
Out of the total, 606 people are in hospitals, 33 of them in intensive care.
The medical professionals who tested positive for coronavirus are 560. The latest cases reported over the past 24 hours are 7, including 4 doctors, 1 nurse, 1 health care assistant and 1 other medical staff.
The deaths of patients with positive results for Covid-19 are 297.
Four Covid-19 associated deaths were reported over the past 24 hours: a 68 year old man with heart disease, chronic lung and neurological illness; a 72 year old man with no information about underlying health conditions; a 68 year old man with no other illnesses; a 65 year old man with heart and chronic kidney disease.
