The newly confirmed coronavirus cases in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 96 out of 3402 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on August 23 shows.
The latest cases were reported in the following districts: Blagoevgrad - 16; Bourgas - 1; Varna - 4; Veliko Turnovo – 1; Vidin – 3; Vratsa -2; Dobrich - 8 ; Kyustendil - 2; Lovech – 1; Montana - 2 Pazardzhik - 6; Pernik - 1; Plovdiv - 8; Rousse – 1; Silistra – 2; Smolyan - 8; Sofia city - 25; Targovoshte – 2; Haskovo –27; Shoumen – 1.
Of the total, 743 are in hospitals, 74 of them being in intensive care.
The recoveries over the past 24 hours are 40. .
Six Covid-19 associated deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.
Bulgaria’s Minister of sports, Krasen Kralev tested positive for the virus, Ministry of sports said on august 23. He has been on leave and has not been in contact with staff from the ministry recently.
Minister Kralev is in good general health conditon, has mild symptoms of the coronavirus and is undergoing treatment at home.
