BGN 2,472 is needed a month for a decent standard of living of a four-member family in Bulgaria. The cost of living has gone up by 4%.
The reason for the rise is higher food prices compared to last year. On average, they went up by 4.4%.
The highest increase is in prices of bread, which for one year went up by 8%, experts from CITUB said on November 18.
Prices of meat also increased significantly after the outbreak of African swine fever.
However, two thirds of the Bulgarians live with less than the income needed for a decent standard of living.
