Some 40,000 pigs will be culled by the end of January 13 in the farm in the village of Brestak near Varna because of registered African Swine Fever.
The site for the burial of the pigs is ready. It located a kilometre and a half away from the farm. The terrain is far from water sources, agricultural land and pastures.
The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency on January 8 confirmed four new outbreaks of African Swine Fever, one at an industrial farm in the village of Brestak, in Vulchi Dol municipality in the Black Sea district of Varna.
