For the second time in a week, dairy farmers from Southeastern Bulgaria staged a protest in Kardzhali region.
They gathered on 1st of February on the road to Makaza to express their dissatisfaction with the amended subsidy rules.
Acording to the new rules, farmers are required to prove delivery of a certain amount of milk and will not receive the money per animal.
They insist that the state pay the difference for a litre of milk because of the low purchase prices of the raw milk.
In the region, the purchase pirce of raw milk is 50 stotinki (25 euro cent)) per litre. Farmers estimate that the real value is over 70 stotinki (35 euro cent).
