On Day 37 of anti-government protests, the crossroads at Eagles’ Bridge, at Sofia University and at the Council of Ministers in Sofia remain blocked to traffic.

The crossroad at the Romanian embassy was again blocked this evening.

For a short time, traffic to Kalotina border crossing was blocked. The protesters are firm that the changes to the Constitution proposed by Bulgaria’s Prime Minister and the call for convening Grand National Assembly cannot quell the protests.

Many said that today’s address by the PM Borissov is throwing dust in the eyes and a superficial attempt to stay in power, as a well an admission that the country’s political system is in crisis.

The PM’s address did not calm down. Protesters vowed to block the whole country.

Shortly after 23:30, a motorcyclist tried to weave though the protest, but was stopped.

As part of the routine, around 21:30 protesters went on procession to Eagles’ Bridge.

One of the protest organisers, Velislav Minekov, said that the protests will not be over soon. According to him, civil disobedience is their weapon.

Hristo Ivanov, co-chair of "Democratic Bulgaria": The Grand National Assembly actually sounds like something big and democratic, but in fact it is tying the hands of the electorate. Let us ask the people what changes in the Constitution they want and what they will vote for in the next Parliament, renewed, to make a decision. What he is proposing is not a new Constitution, it is not bold enough, it does not require a Grand National Assembly. They put Bulgaria in this quagmire of writing a new Constitution. We don't need that! With these or even bolder proposals, we all need to go to the polls, gain confidence, the next parliament renewed and restarted in the way a democracy is renewed and restarted, to see what consensus will be formed and this consensus to be implemented through an amendment to the Constitution by an ordinary National Assembly. In these elections, a new democratic mandate should be formed, in a new Parliament, which, with the powers of an ordinary National Assembly, should change the Constitution more boldly than what Borissov is proposing.

Maya Manolova "Stand Up.BG": He (Borissov) is ready to use the Constitution and the status of the Grand National Assembly. Literally yesterday we saw how he used the MPs. How he uses them. In order not to go Parliament (referring to the extraordinary sitting that failed that failed due to lack of quorum) and to hide. His next step is to use the Grand National Assembly.

This evening, a group of protesters blocked the traffic to the Pass of the Republic for about an hour. Long queues of vehicles was formed. There were minor clashes between the protesters and road users as they expressed annoyance with the blockade.

The blockade was lifted after negotiations with the police.

The protesters are firm that they will continue their actions until their demands are met.

The 37th day of protests demanding the resignation of the government and the Chief Prosecutor saw demonstrations in other cities across the country.
