On day 50 of anti-government proests, August 27, the three key crosdroads in Sofia remain blocked to traffic.

Protsters’ demand rremain unchanged: resignation of the government and the Chief Prosecutor; early elections with machine and lectronic voting.

About 20:30, the protesters released baloons in the colours of the Bulgarian national flag and reminded about the big protest shceduled to take place on September 2.

As on previous nights, about 21:00, the protesters walked along the route of the procession to Eagles’ Bridge.

Members of the public, who are dissatisfied with the traffic blockades in the capital continued to collect signatures for a petition to have the blockades removed. This evening they gathered outide NDK (National Palace of Culture) and went on a procession to “St. Nedelya” church.

Several days ago, the protest organsers, the so called “Poisonous Trio” , said that under the Law on Acess to Public Information they had sent an enquiry to the Council of Ministers asking whether the Chief Prosecutor uses a villa in Boyana Residence (government residential complex).

Today, they announced that they received a reply, according to which the question was forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office, although the Council of Ministers manages the residence.

Today, Sofia City Court ruled the lightest measure “Report in-person to the police” for Georgi Georgiev, who was accused of smashing the windscreen of the car of Elena Mitseva during the recent blockade at the crossroads near the Romanian embassy in Sofia. The court noted that the investigation should check the information that Mitseva also commited a crime by enetring with car into the crossroad that was blocked by protesters.
