On day 51 of the protests demanding the resignation of the government and the Chief Prosecutor, Ivan Geshev, the traffic blockades at the three key crossroads in Sofia remain in place.
On August 28, the protesters gathered at the usual starting point of the protest, the triangle of power, where the main organisers of the protest reminded that a large protest is prepared for September 2.
Later the protesters went on the procession to Eagles’ Bridge, where a concert took place.
The petition which was collecting signatures against the traffic blockades was temporarily suspended. According to the organisers of the petition, there are enough signatures now. They say that there were attempts to “crush” the organisers of the petition.
Tonight, there was a "civil guard" at the crossroads near the Romanian embassy, and the goal was to protect the junction at Sitnyakovo Boulevard from blocking. People are gathering after the incident with the car that tried to pass through the intersection of Sitnyakovo Boulevard and was attacked by the protesters.
Earlier today, citizens gathered in front of the courtroom to express their indignation at the release of Georgi Georgiev, accused of breaking the windscreen of the dentist's car, Dr. Mitseva.
The dissatisfied also expressed their sympathy for Georgi Florov, (organiser of the petition collecting signatures against the blockades) who was attacked that night. He took part in taking down the tent camp in front of the University.
