A doctor from the Northern Bulgarian city of Silistra died of Covid-19 on August 31. This is the first medical professional of coronavirus to die in the region and 11th in the country.
The 61 year old doctor Marin Marinov was admitted to hospital in serious condition on August 25. Despite the care and efforts of tthe doctors from the covid-19 ward, he passed away last night, the head of the hospital in Silistra told BNT.
Doctor Marinov was a respected GP, with extensive professional experience. He currently had more than 4 700 patients in his practice.
Last week, (August 23), doctor Musa Vaklyov, a general practitioner from the village of Kraishte (Blagoevgrad district, South Bulgaria) died of coronavirus.
Few days later, his 38 year old son, also a doctor, died of Covid-19 in Pirogov emergency hospital in Sofia.
His wife, a nurse, who also tested positive for coronavirus is in serious condition in hospital in Sofia.
