The bodies of a 60-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were found in an apartment in a block of flats in Alen Mak neighbourhood in Blagoevgrad, Southwestern Bulgaria on October 4.

The investigators are working on the suspicion that the perpetrator is their 23-year-old son, who set fire to the apartment to cover up the traces of the crime.


After the fire, the alleged perpetrator tried to escape in the direction of Kresna in a stolen minibus. He had an accident on the road and drove into the crash barriers.


The police in Blaggoevgrad detained him at the scene of the accident, He has not admitted responsibility.
The Prosecutor’s office in Blagoevgrad immediately launched a murder investigation.
