We will not comment on the specific events that are happening in Bulgaria, the spokesperson of the European Commission Eric Mamer said on July 13 in response to a journalistic question.
According to him, however, the European Commission is in the process of monitoring compliance with the rule of law in Bulgaria through the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM).
He added that CVM is the means to monitor the rule of law situation in Bulgaria.
Nothing has changed as far as that is concerned.
Our eyes are definitely not "wide shut", Eric Mamer said.
