Election papers and voting machines have been sent to all polling stations abroad

All election papers, materials and voting machines for polling stations outside the country have already been transported to the respective locations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on October 24.

Bulgarian citizens abroad will be able to vote at a total of 719 polling stations in 57 countries.

The largest number of polling stations abroad will be in Turkey - 168, the United Kingdom - 112, Germany - 66, Spain - 64, the United States - 53, Italy - 27, the Netherlands - 25, Greece - 23, France - 17, Austria and Belgium - 16 each, Canada - 15 polling stations.

Machine voting will take place in a total of 157 polling stations - 79 machines have been sent to Turkey, 21 to Germany, 14 to the United Kingdom, 6 each to Spain and the United States, 5 each to Austria and Greece, 4 to the Netherlands, 3 each to France and Belgium, 2 each to Canada, Cyprus, the Czech Republic and Switzerland and 1 each to Luxembourg, Norway and Serbia.

By Friday, 25 October 2024, the last shipments of paper ballots and papers will arrive to the far destinations - Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Iceland, Norway, UAE, Algeria, Georgia, Russia and China, as well as to some countries in the Balkans.

The information on the addresses of the opened polling stations abroad by country is published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in the section "Elections".

Address information is updated as it changes, so the MFA recommends Bulgarian citizens to check the specific addresses of polling stations, including the day before the elections. For further convenience, a map of polling stations outside the country is also published at the above-mentioned web address, which provides additional information on the location of polling stations outside the country.

The diplomatic and consular representations of the Republic of Bulgaria are in contact with the authorities on the ground and are ready to react in case of difficulties to guarantee the right to vote of the Bulgarian citizens.
