At a closed meeting on September 16, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission approved a rise in the price of natural gas from September 1. One megawatt will now cost a little over BGN 22.
The new price will take effect retroactively.
A few days ago, the Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova also defended the rise in the price of natural gas. It is based on the market indexes of European gas hubs at the end of August and the euro/dollar exchange rate for the same month of the European Central Bank.
