The entry into force of the Social Services Act will be postponed by 6 months. This was voted on December 18 at a meeting of the Committee on Labour and Social Policy.
The law was to enter into force on January 1, 2020. Its main purpose is to improve the quality of social services. The debate took place amidst protests, the demands of whichwere a complete repeal of the law because it did not protect parents and did not formulate what a child at risk was. The postponement decision will be voted on in plenary on Friday.
Denitsa Sacheva: The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy will support a delay of 6 months, because obviously there is a need to explain what the law is and to reduce tension. We are ready to listen to everyone.
