Europa Nostra congratulates Rashidov on promoting Bulgarian cultural heritage

Europa Nostra, Europe's largest cultural heritage organization, congratulated the Chair of Bulgarian Parliament’s Committee on Culture and Media, Vezhdi Rashidov, for his exceptional contribution to protecting and promoting Bulgaria's heritage and culture.

"Thanks to what you have done, the modern people can see the treasures of an ancient history by walking around the Largo or by looking at the unique archaeological museum in the necropolis under the Church of Saint Sofia, these two sites and dozens more attract the admiration of countless visitors", the Vice President of Europa Nostra Pete Jaspert addressed Vezhdi Rashidov at their meeting today, December 18, in Bulgaria’s Parliament.

The two talked about the efforts of the European countries and non-governmental organizations for the preservation of the cultural heritage of the oldest continent.

Mr. Yaspert also welcomed the idea of Vezhdi Rashidov for Bulgaria to host a meeting of the Chairs of the Committees of Culture of the Parliaments of the EU Member States next year to discuss the development of a common European standard for combating illicit trafficking in artifacts and counterfeiting artwork. Another topic for the European countries is tackling false news.
