First exit polls as at 19:00 show that there will be a second round of municipal and mayoral elections in Sofia.
The current mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, (nominated by the ruling GERB party) won the largest share of votes, 35,4%, in the first round of the local elections, held on October 27, according to first exit poll results by Alpha Research polling agency.
The candidate nominated by an initiative committee and backed by the opposition Bulgarian socialist Party, Maya Manolova won 26,2%.
The candidate of Democratic Bulgaria, Borislav Ignatov, is third with 15.8%.
According to exit polls by Gallup polling agency:
Yordanka Fandakova (GERB) won 34.7% of the votes.
Maya Manolova (Socialist-backed independent) 24,6%.
Borislav Ignatov (Democratic Bulgaria) 14,9%.
Boris Bonev (Save Sofia) 13,4%,
Angel Djambazki (VMRO) 4,1%
