Early in the morning of July 17, a 41-year-old Moldovan van driver arrived in Romania at the Giurgiu border checkpoint. Five more people travelled with him on the van. .
When inspecting the vehicle behind the back row of seats, Romanian border police found a specially adapted place with a concealment in which five men were hiding. They were 20-21 years old.

During the interview, they explained that they were from Iraq and Syria and had boarded in Turkey. The driver and one of the passengers helped them to hide in the van.
The men paid 1,000 euros each to get to Bucharest and then get to a Western European country.
Pre-trial proceedings were initiated under the supervision of the Giurgiu District Prosecutor's Office. The Moldovan men were accused of attempted human trafficking. The migrants have been returned to Rousse.
