Flu school closures extended in Varna

The school closures over the flu epidemic in the coastal city of Varna will be extended until February 7 including. All 2,124 schools in the district remain closed because of the rise in flu incidence.

Last week, the number of flu cases increased significantly in all age groups compared to the previous seven days period.

The ban on planned surgical operations remains in place. Scheduled and non-urgent medical consultations for children and women have been suspended.

Dr. Dochka Mihaylova, Director of the Regional Health Inspectorate in Varna: Flu cases are rising, reaching 192 per 10,000. All the anti-epidemic measures that we announced at the previous meeting continue throughout the district.
