A big forest fire occured in the region of Svilengrad, Southern Bulgaria, between the villages of Planinovo and Ustrem. Some 2,000 decares of pine forest is burning.
There is no risk for villages and people in the area.
Heavy-duty machinery is expected to get involved in the extinguishing.
Currently, 5 fire fighting teams are battling the blaze, but the strong wind and the large flame front makes it difficult.
Forestry officials are helping the efferts to suppress the fire. Heavy-duty machinery from Maritsa East Mines is on the way to the site. In the morning on July 22, military will also join the battle against the wildfire.
