Four people were arrested for extortion, coercion and beating of debtors of fast loans lenders. This was reported by the Ministry of Interior.
The ministry explained that a special operation was carried out at various points in the capital around noon on October 17 following an investigation. Four persons were arrested for racketeering, coercion and beating. They threatened, blackmailed and beat up debtors of a debt collection company with which they had a contract.
The police found and seized electric shocks, metal batons, mobile phones, portable computers, a gas pistol, masks and documents at the places they lived and the cars they used.
Three of the arrested persons are known to the police for various types of offences, one of whom has also been convicted. After the report of the materials of the pre-trial proceedings to the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office, the men were charged and a detention order was imposed for up to 72 hours.
