The 9th edition of the wine festival “Golden Grapes” took place in the Southern Bulgarian town of Melnik on 8th and 9th of February.
All wineries in the region opened doors for guests and fine wine lovers. The 2 day event started with a blessing ceremony for health and welfare. Combined with lots of music and dancing, all visitors had the opportunity to enjoy high quality wines from local grapes varieties.
As part of the tradition, 30 winemakers took part in the contest for the best wine.
Melnik is a town in Southern Bulgaria known for one of the best wines produced in the country – Mavrud.
