The United States will send a team of energy experts to help develop Bulgaria as an energy hub in the Balkans. This was announced by US Ambassador to Bulgaria Herro Mustafa at a business meeting with the US Chamber of Commerce representatives on November 22.
The experts will visit Kozloduy and Belene NPPs as well as gas storage facilities in the country. It is wonderful that Bulgaria has opportunities to supply gas from sources other than Russia, Ambassador Mustafa stressed. She also revealed some of the topics that will be discussed during a White House meeting between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on Monday.
The US Ambassador also said that the meeting was not a prize for the purchase of F16 fighter aircrafts (by Bulgaria). It is an opportunity for the leaders of our two countries to get to know each other, reaffirm the strength of our strategic relations and move on to the next level. I guess that Prime Minister Borissov and President Trump will talk about close security cooperation, about our mutual trade and investments, confirm the rule of law and discuss security of energy supply, she said.
