Hurricane wind in the Southern Bulgarian regions of Smolyan and Karlovo blew off roofs, uprooted trees and left many villages without electricity on 18th of January.
The hospital in Karlovo is most seriously affected as the wind knocked down the whole roof.
At noon, the entire roof of the northern wing of the building was blown off and fell on an ambulance and parked cars.
It also took off the roof of a local school. Metal sheets fell in front of the school entrance. The children remained indoors for security reasons.
Schools in Klisura town closed due to power outage. Emergency teams worked all afternoon to restore electricity supply in Kalofer, Slastina, Rozino and Kurtovo.
Fallen branches and trees are still blocking streets and pavements in many villages in Karlovo municipality.
