The sailing regatta "Cor Carolli 2020" started on August 12. The 21st edition of the international competition is dedicated to Captain Georgi Georgiev, who was the first Bulgarian to sail around the world in 1976.
34 crews of keel yachts are participating in the event. The risky maneuvers started with the start of the first race. In the desire of the crews to lead, some of the boats passed very close to each other. The participants include Ukrainian, Russian, German and Swiss competitors. From Varna the sailors will go to St. Vlas, the island of St. Ivan and Bourgas.
"St. Ivan's Island will only be bypassed, so if there are people on the Sozopol coast, they will also be able to watch," explained the regatta organizer, Captain Toma Tomov.
The regatta will finish in Varna on August 15.
