High winds make firefighting difficult, about 300 decares of countryside affected by the fire
A large fire broke out in the area of Satovcha (Southwestern Rhodope mountains), in the locality of Valnev Rid on February 29. The fire started from coniferous vegetation as well as forested territory.
One fire engine, employees from the three forestry sections of "Dikchan State Forest Service", as well as employees of the Municipality took part in extinguishing the fire.
There is no direct danger to people and settlements. About 300 decares of countryside have been affected.
The fire has been contained and brought under control, the Dikchan State Forest Service told BNT. Fire fighting teams remain on the spot.
