New cases of coronavirus were registered in schools in the South Bulgarian district of Blagoevgrad on September 23. Both teachers and students tested positive for the virus. Several classes will switch to distance learning.
Students from 8 classes from the school of construction and geodesy are under 14 day quarantine because teachers from the school tested positive. Two students from the economics school are in isolation in a boarding house. A whole class from the mathematics school is in quarantine because a 12th grade student is with Covid-19. A teacher from a primary school also tested positive for coronavirus.
Vasil Cholakov - Deputy Director of the Third Primary School in Blagoevgrad: She has symptoms - lack of smell, cough and so on. So far, no children have shown symptoms. All teachers, especially those in the upper grades, who teach in more than one class, are wearing shields and masks, in the initial stage it is not mandatory, but the colleague was wearing a shield.
The rest of the students will continue with in-person classes.
All contacts of the infected will be subjects to tests.
The regional health inspectorate said they are monitoring strictly for the compliance with the anti-epidemic measures in hospitals and in schools.
Six teachers at various schools in Bulgaria’s coastal city of Varna have tested positive for coronavirus. The regional health inspectorate said that students from 10 classes are in quarantine. According to data of the regional education department they were 14.
Two more classes in the coastal city of Bourgas were quarantined after cases of students testing positive for Covid-19. A 12th-grade class at the English Language High School in the city was placed in quarantine after a student tested positive.
The students from a sixth-grade class at Dobri Chintulov school have been quarantined, because of a case of coronavirus.
