Most hotels in the largest seaside resort in Bulgaria - Sunny Beach will close for the season by September 10. The reason is the lack of charter flights and tourists to choose the months of September and October for their summer vacation.

At the height of the summer season, some of the largest complexes in the Sunny Beach resort are still closed. Some of the smaller hotels still welcome tourists from Germany, Ukraine and Poland.

Elena Ivanova, Deputy Head of the Union of Owners in Sunny Beach: After the 10th to the 15th of September most hotels will gradually begin to close due to lack of guests.

Some of the hotels in the resort were open for only two weeks and then closed due to unprofitability. At the same time, other accommodation places have significantly reduced the prices of holiday packages, so they enjoy 80% occupancy.

Unlike some hotels, the beaches in Sunny Beach are full. It turns out that most of the tourists here are from Bulgaria and Russia, as they have bought apartments in the western part of the resort.

Due to the decline in charter flights this summer season, the industry relies mainly on tourists arriving in Bulgaria by road.
