Nine arrested in an operation targeting household crimes in Southern Bulgaria

The Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev and the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of interior Ivailo Ivanov have been in the Southern Bulgarian region of Chirpan since early in the morning on February 17, where an operation takes place targeting crimes against households.

Two people were detained in the village of Zetyovo for armed robbery. The specialized operation takes place in several villages in the region.

Another joint operation of the police and the Prosecutor’s Office is being conducted in the city of Stara Zagora, where 7 people have been detained for a serious theft.

The 9 detainees are being interviewed. The Prosecutor’s Office is expected to press charges against them by the end of the day.
