Not confirmed whether Essex lorry with 39 bodies has Bulgarian registration

Thirty nine people were found dead in a lorry container in Essex on October 23. The British police said they believed the lorry had come from Bulgaria and entered the UK via Holyhead, Anglesey, on Saturday.

The Bulgarian embassy in London is in contact with the British authorities to clarify the case with the 39 bodies found in Essex County, the Min8istery of Foreign Affairs said on October 23.

The British police have been contacted and a representative of the Bulgarian embassy has had a meeting in the Foreign Office in London. Bulgarian’s ambassador, Marin Raykov, spoke with the British ambassador in Sofia, Emma Hopkins, on the phone, agreeing to follow up on the case.

At present, it has not yet been confirmed whether the lorry found with 39 dead bodies in Essex has Bulgarian registration. There is also no indication of the nationality of the human bodies found in it. British police have warned that the identification will take a long time.
