Commenting on the changes to the cabinet announced by PM Borissov on July 23, the leader of the opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party, Kornelia Ninova said that they cannot calm the tension, because behind the new ministers is the same model of government with the support of the same parties.
Ninova reiterated that the BSP’s goal is to change the governance model. According to the BSP, the cabinet reshuffles are an imitation of change.
Kornelia Ninova, Chairperson of the BSP: In the last years of this government, they replaced 12 ministers from almost all ministries, but nothing has changed as a way of governing, as an oligarchic circle that pulls the strings. And as a result for these 4 years the indicators of Bulgaria are deteriorating, so this is an imitation, mimicry, an attempt to quell the tension of the people protesting on the street. I think it will be unsuccessful. The agony of this government will simply continue. Our position is clear and consistent - resignation and early elections.
