The organisers of gambling games also protested in front of the Parliament on July 20. They voiced dissatisfaction with the latest changes in the law on gambling, which raise the thresholds for participation in the organisation of such gambling activities.
According to the Association of Gambling Organisers and the Bulgarian Gaming Association, the new amendments were adopted without discussion with the industry and create conditions for a new major player to enter the market by eliminating small businesses. The latest amendments introduce new higher fees for casinos and gaming halls. Gambling organisers also suspect lobbying for the new texts.
