Parliament’s legal affairs committee rejected the creation of a chapter in the Electoral Code, which regulates the election of a Grand National Assembly and the introduction of a mixed system.
Only MPS from the ruling GERB voted in favour. All other parliamentary groups did not support the proposal.
The committee accepted the proposals of the government for voting with machines and ballots, and that the provision of the voting machines will be the responsibility of the Central Election Commission.
