Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov held a telephone conversation with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Governemnt press office announced on 25th of January.
The two have discussed the idea of organising a meeting in Bulgaria between the leaders of the European institutions and Turkey.
Prime Minister Borissov has indicated that such a meeting could help normalise the dialogue between the EU and Turkey, which is of mutual interest.
President Erdogan congratulated the Prime Minister on the official start of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU and wished it to be successful for both the Union and the countries of the region.
