Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on October 11 opened a new section of Hemus motorway. Located between Yablanitsa and Boaza. The construction cost BGN 66 million and was financed with money from the budget.
The new 9 km long section was officially opened by the Prime Minister and ministers from the cabinet. It starts at Yablanitsa and ends at the Boaza junction. There are two lanes of traffic in each direction and one emergency lane. Some 45 km of crash barriers were installed.
The new section will shorten the Sofi-Varna journey by 30 minutes.
The PM said he hoped that the construction of the whole Hemus Motorway will be completed in maximum 3-4 years. So far, including this section, 177 km of the motorway have been ready out of 430 km.
